The all new VPL-HW30ESB utilizes 3 x all new SXRD “Silicon Crystal Reflective Display” panels which feature Full HD (1920x1080) resolution, and high frame rate, for excellent color reproduction and contrast ratio, in both 3D or 2D. The new panels with a reduced pixel gap of only 0.2um offer more uniform picture
quality, and film-like reproduction.
1300 Ansi Lumen Brightness With 70,000 : 1 Contrast Ratio
The VPL-HW30ES producing 1300 Ansi lumen, is equipped with “Advanced Iris 3”enabling a contrast ratio of up to 70,000:1.
The Advanced Iris 3 is an automatic “Iris” shutter, a technology that automatically detects and adjusts the picture brightness and contrast to accurately reproduce the brightness level of the input signal for excellent reproduction of bright or very dark scenes without compromise.
New advance 3D brightness, enhances the brightness of 3D content, enabling full enjoyment of 3D movies and other 3D content while even further reducing instances of crosstalk. By using the latest lamp technology, which develops higher overall brightness and incorporates dynamic lamp control and a new generation of 3D glasses the overall perceived 3D brightness is greatly improved compared to 1st generation 3D products.

The VPL-HW30ES, SXRD Home Cinema projector, offers brilliant 2D and 3D in full HD big screen experience into the home.
Sony being a world leader in 3D technology, from 3D image capture, production, content delivery, to 3D and 4K movie cinema projection, enables Sony now to deliver an incredible 3D viewer experience at home.
The all new 240Hz SXRD panels enables the VPL-HW30ES to deliver 3D images that can be viewed using rechargeable Sony 3D Active Glasses TDG-PJ1. This high frame rate has been developed to minimize 3D “cross talk” and image distortion, delivering unrivalled 3D and 2D high definition cinematic experience. The VPL-HW30ESB uses a frame-sequential display method which means that each image for both the left and right eyes is displayed in Full HD resolution, and can display 3D images from all current formats including full frame package (3D Blu-ray and Games), side by side (mainly broadcast and cable content) or over and under (camcorders and digital still cameras). The projector allows custom setting of the perceived brightness of content by adjusting the speed of the polarization of the 3D glasses, further more the perceived depth of 3D content can be adjusted by the user to enable full enjoyment of 3D.
For 3D viewing transmitter TMR PJ1 must be connected using CAT 7 cable (not supplied).
2D Up-Conversion to Simulate 3D
The VPL-HW30ESB has a built in processor which enables the projector to accept 2D content and then re-create the content and display a simulated 3D version. The Sony developed technology is a special conversion algorithm that reproduces natural 3D effect from original 2D source material. By supporting a large variety of video sources, Sony has greatly increased the amount of content that can be viewed in 3D, with clearer contrast and more brightness.

Two pairs of lightweight, rechargeable Sony 3D Glasses TDG-PJ1 which now incorporate the 3D polarized filter are supplied. Additional Glasses can be purchased if required. One USB charger for glasses is also included.
