Technical Performance Musical Fidelity’s RIAA correction is renowned for its consistent and predictable accuracy. The LX2-LPS maintains an accuracy of ±0.25dB from 20Hz to 20kHz, and it extends to 45kHz, eliminating overshoot ringing. This results in crystal-clear high frequencies with no intermodulation or other distracting artifacts. The signal-to-noise ratio is exceptional for both MM (greater than 82dB) and MC (greater than 72dB) cartridges, rendering it virtually inaudible at any volume setting. Unless, of course, you’re a half-deaf head-banger. But then, I wouldn’t expect Musical Fidelity’s refinement and subtlety to be quite your cup of tea! Distortion in the LX LPS is impressively low, typically measuring less than 0.007% across the entire audio spectrum. The overload margin is exemplary. In simple terms, it’s nearly impossible for any real-world cartridge to overload it. As we all know, perfection is elusive, but the LX2-LPS comes remarkably close.
