Description
Analog Audio Interconnect Cable named after the Evergreen Bridge, which connects Seattle, Washington (USA) to the Bellevue area across Lake Washington.
Throughout the Bridges & Falls series, you will discover superior metals and more advanced technologies, including Air-Tube insulation, the Dielectric-Bias System, and the Noise-Dissipation System, all offered at more affordable prices than ever before.
Please note: All cables in our Bridges & Falls Series cleverly bundle their left and right channels in a single jacket and feature our Asymmetrical Double-Balanced geometry with separate high-quality positive and negative conductors. This design allows for a slim, flexible, and highly versatile high-performance cable that can be terminated with a variety of modern connections, including 3.5mm (male or female), DIN, and RCA. However, it is worth noting that, due to design constraints, the connectors on Bridges & Falls cables are quite close together. If the L and R inputs on your components are more than 3 inches (7.6cm) apart, we suggest considering models from our Rivers or Elements Series.
ASYMÉTRIQUE DOUBLE-ÉQUILIBRÉ GÉOMÉTRIE Specially designed for single-ended applications, Asymmetrical Double-Balanced Geometry offers a relatively lower impedance on the ground for a richer and more dynamic experience. While many single-ended cable designs use a single path for both the ground and the shield, Double-Balanced designs separate the two for cleaner and quieter performance.
DISSIPATION DU BRUIT PAR COUCHE DE MÉTAL Achieving 100% shield coverage is easy. To prevent captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment’s ground reference, AQ’s Noise-Dissipation is necessary. Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise and RF energy to the component ground, thus modulating and distorting the critical “reference” ground plane, resulting in signal distortion. Noise-Dissipation “shields the shield,” absorbing and reflecting most of this noise and RF energy before it reaches the ground layer.
COLD-WELDED, GOLD-PLATED TERMINATIONS This plug design allows for a solderless connection, which eliminates a common source of distortion associated with soldered connections. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped rather than machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion rather than machinability.
SOLID LONG-GRAIN COPPER (LGC) CONDUCTORS Solid Long-Grain Copper (LGC) conductors provide a smoother and clearer sound than cables using standard Oxygen-Free High-Conductivity (OFHC) copper. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a significant source of distortion. Surface quality is crucial because a conductor serves as a guide for both electric fields within the conductor and magnetic fields outside it. LGC contains fewer oxides, fewer impurities, fewer grain boundaries, resulting in superior performance.
FOAMED-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is, in essence, part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials have the capacity to absorb and store energy, releasing it as distortion over time. As air absorbs minimal energy and Polyethylene offers low-loss properties with a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE insulation, featuring high air content, minimizes the out-of-focus effects commonly associated with other materials.
