Description
Meaning “Great River” in Athabaskan, the Yukon River originates from the Llewellyn Glacier in British Columbia and flows into the Bering Sea in Alaska. It may have been the first immigration route for North America’s first indigenous peoples and was certainly the primary mode of transportation during the Klondike Gold Rush from 1896 to 1903. Paddle-wheel riverboats continued to dominate transportation along the river until the 1950s when the Klondike Highway was completed. The Yukon River’s king salmon remains an elusive but highly prized delicacy.
SOLID PERFECT-SURFACE COPPER+ (PSC+) CONDUCTORS Solid conductors prevent electrical and magnetic strand interaction. PSC+ Solid-Copper minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries and maximizes linear RF noise dissipation.
CARBON-BASED 3-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION SYSTEM (NDS) Achieving 100% shield coverage is straightforward. Preventing captured Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment’s ground reference requires AudioQuest’s Noise-Dissipation System (NDS). Traditional shield systems usually absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to the component ground, thus modulating and distorting the crucial “reference” ground plane, leading to signal distortion. NDS’s alternating layers of metal and carbon-loaded synthetics “shield the shield,” absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the ground-connected layer.
POLYETHYLENE AIR-TUBE INSULATION Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is, in reality, part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials tend to absorb energy, some of which is stored and later released as distortion. However, AudioQuest employs Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation on both conductors to enhance geometry stabilization and improve clarity. Because air absorbs minimal energy, and Polyethylene offers low loss and has a benign distortion profile, Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation, with its high air content, results in significantly less of the out-of-focus effect common with other materials.
TRIPLE-BALANCED GEOMETRY (SEPARATE GROUND-REFERENCE CONDUCTOR) Our Triple-Balanced Geometry uses a separate ground-reference conductor, ensuring that the cable’s shield is never employed as an inferior conductor. Whether fitted with RCA or XLR plugs, the cable’s three conductors guarantee that the positive and negative signals have equally superior, low-distortion conducting paths.
