Elegant and Intelligent Design: Carbon Surface & 7.2 kg Platter
The RPM 9 Carbon utilizes an extra-heavy chassis featuring a specially CNC-machined MDF plate incorporating steel pellets coated with hard resin, forming a precise and exceptionally heavy sandwich construction. A unique and complex heat treatment, along with a carbon surface coating, ensures remarkably low resonance levels. The mass-loaded chassis effectively decouples from its surface with the use of magnetic feet. Two magnets located in the feet give the turntable an almost floating appearance, with the studs in the feet serving only to keep them centered. Paired with a new solid aluminum platter featuring internal TPE damping and a vinyl layer on top, the inverted ceramic main bearing delivers an absolutely stable turntable speed with minimal rumble. The extra-heavy outboard motor unit is equipped with a precise motor control and features a built-in switch between 33 and 45 rpm. Finally, the uncompromising 9″ Evo tonearm with a conical carbon-fiber armtube and inverted bearing design ensures perfect tracking, even with demanding cartridges.
The RPM 9 Carbon is available with or without the Ortofon Quintet Bronze cartridge. The highly flexible, top-grade copper internal wiring is delivered with the high-end 5P phono cable “Connect it CC” with RCA plugs (XLR available as an option).
